Funding A Move To Australia – Jan 2025 Update

It’s been a hectic Xmas and New Year for many reasons in the HTWA household, we’ve been busy with our work trying to help fund our move to Australia.

The focus post-Xmas has been on sorting through old possessions and throwing out, or selling on eBay, Vinted or Facebook Marketplace to raise those vital funds.

As nice as the clear-out has felt it’s all about raising those crucial funds. We’ve made a record of what we’ve sold and we’re going to share it with you so you get an idea perhaps of what money you could make and how long it has taken us to sell the items.

As you can see from the table above, it’s been a solid start to our funding efforts.

£1006.96 in a few months is great, also eBay rewards you for being active. So the more you list the easier it gets to make a sale. So if I were to offer any advice, it would be to try and steadily list items over time. That way you signal to eBay that you are an active seller and in return, the eBay algorithms will show your items more frequently.

Funding a move to Australia is hard work, however, from learning from people who have already made the move to Australia we know we’re going to need every penny when we can get our hands on.
